Click here to view the embedded video. Visual Factor, maker of the new iCarpus portable device stand, sent me a demo unit  to review for AndroidGuys.com,  we are going to take a look at the device and see just how functional it is. The basic idea behind the device is fairly easy to understand. The device is used to hold your mobile phone or portable media player in either the vertical or horizontal position (this has some exceptions I’ll...

Good news for those of you interested in picking up the Galaxy Tab announced last week .  According to Samsung product executive Hankil Yoon, the Android 2.2 tablet could sell for between $200 and $300 when it debuts with wireless providers.  The final pricing will depend on carrier subsidy, but this is an encouraging starting point. I expect the hardware maker to adopt a similar strategy for the tablet as they have for their Galaxy S line...

If you are looking for a marble-rolling, maze-traveling game, Lava Ball 3D is the game for you. Please note: you will not be able to run this on 1st generation Android devices. I would only run this game with at least a 1GHz processor. I tried it on a MyTouch 3G and it locked on the level select screen. I then reviewed it on an EVO and it ran like a champ. It seems the lag is caused by the lava background. The free version allows 4 levels of...

The HTC PD42100 — the same horizontal slider CDMA/GSM world phone we posted leaked photos of last month –has made its way through the FCC.  The device will feature Wifi b/g/n, a 4-inch screen, and possibly one of the fastest mobile processors on the market.  It is going to be a sexy, bad-ass handset. No word yet on pricing  Read More →

ViewSonic announced the “world’s first” dual-boot Android/ Windows 7 tablet earlier today at IFA 2010. The Android side of things is 1.6 which might turn away tech savvy early adopters, but the rest of the tablet sounds good on paper. Samsung isn’t the only company announcing Android tablets today .  Toshiba just dropped the Android 2.2-powered Folio 100 on the world.  The specs read like a strong device, with its 1024 x 600 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, Tegra 2 processor, and 16GB of built-in memory.  Other features, like the HDMI output, SD card slot, WiFi support, and 1.3 megapixel webcam would have you thinking this will be a force to be reckoned with. Sadly,...

Click here to view the embedded video. This week I had the privilege of receiving a XPERIA X10 from Sony to play with and review, man I love my job!  I have to admit that at first I was not super excited about the X10 as a handset, for the simple fact that it runs Android 1.6, which I moved on from sometime ago thanks to Cyanogen Mod.  I was expecting a very vanilla handset, but was…  Read More →
