New augmented reality app Mixare arrives on Android

Everyone seems to be excited about augmented reality, but we’re yet to see anyone actually use it properly or give us a compelling reason to try. Especially as we live in the countryside, so don’t have much need for an app that tells us where the nearest branch of Starbucks is. There is no Starbucks. Now we’ve got that off our chest, here’s a look at Mixare – the latest AR browser that’s just popped up on the Android Market. mixare Demonstration in Appiano ( South Tyrol ) Great video! The app’s up on the Market right now, although it’s flagged as an “EARLY BETA RELEASE” so don’t go slagging the makers off on the internet when it doesn’t work properly on your stupid Acer. No one tests things on an Acer. …
