Another smartphone data survey has arrived, this time by research firm Gartner – which shows Android and iPhone both enjoyed a storming 2009. Upping its market share from 0.5% in 2008, the year it launched, Android OS phones racked up a 3.9% global market share figure when looking at total smartphone sales throughout all of 2009, while iPhone went from 8.2% in 2008 to 14.4% in 2009.
