
Retail ready HTC Droid Eris gets unboxed

With less than two days until it's launch, the first unboxing of a retail ready HTC Droid Eris has made its way to the internet. The Droid Eris is simply a redesigned HTC Hero, just like we've seen on the Sprint network, but the unboxer notes that the Eris is lighter, thinner, and feels better in the hand than the Sprint version. As far as looks go, I'm not digging Verizon's styling of the Eris so much, but the Sprint Hero is no real looker either. Come on HTC, I can more chinned Android phones here in the U.S. Verizon should have the HTC Droid Eris up for sale in retail and online this Friday for only $99.00 with a new two …

As usual, Droid Life has come through with some Mr. Blurrycam photos. This time, they’re from Verizon and show that the Droid Eris will be receiving a software update on July 17th at midnight (ok – techincally, it’s July 16th at 11:59 PM – but for all intents and purposes, that’s the 17th).
